INCREDIBLE INDIA

Hello 

Im back to work after a very longggg holiday. Today entry is about my experience travelling to India (10D9N). Our trip was planned and arranged by my sister (i forgot the travel agency name).  

INDIA........simply raw and colourful. India was never in my wishlist or may be Tajmahal and Kerala only (dont ask me the reason).  Our journey begin in Trichy and end in Chennai. We moved using tempo traveler.

Tamil Nadu, with its ancient temples, is the Hindu soul of the country. The place that we covered in this 9 days are Trichy, Tanjavore, Kumbokonam, Kodaikanal, Tirupathi, Coimbatore, Vaitheswarar, Kancipuram, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Pazhani and Chennai ( may be i missed out some places). We moved around a lot on this trip – not more than 1 nights anywhere. Normally we will have our hotel complimentary breakfast and start our journey around 8.30am.

In India...........You're never alone,  wherever you look, at whatever time of day, in however rural a landscape, you always see people, yes PEOPLE. We passed junctions where jostling crowds on foot, on bikes, with cows, wait to cross. The views were extraordinarily rich, full of colour and life.  All their walls are painted with advertisements, jasmine and roses are fresh, local orange, mango and pomegranate are very tempting.

The most place i enjoyed in INDIA are KODAIKANAL (cold weather), kanyakumari (windy) and Chennai (shopping heaven).  Most of the temples you have to pay special entrance fee except Tirupathi.  In Chennai you can get cheap sarees, punjabi suits, imitation jewelries and sweets.  HIMALAYA products are also cheap compare to MALAYSIA. Gold and silver are very affordable in INDIA.  They don't have 'upah' for their gold items.  INDIA has implemented GST and unfortunately tourist cant claim GST refund at the moment.

If u wish to bath in Rameshwaram, please bring spare clothes.There are separate changing rooms for ladies & men. As for wet cloths, you can place them in bins provided or you can take them back after changing into dry cloths. But please bring 'kain batik' to cover because they don't have partition inside the changing room.

The only thing that i hated most in INDIA........ there is no such thing as a “quietly passing car”. One rule of the road is that there is constant honking. Honking is mandatory, and also necessary for survival. All the drivers use honking as a way to communicate on the road. Most vehicles have inadequate mirrors to see what’s happening on the side and behind so other drivers are constantly honking just to let you know they’re there, or let you know they’re passing. Almost every truck has the words: “Honk OK Please” written on the back for this reason.

👉 Malaysia is 2:30 hours ahead of India

👉 Do not break temple rules.  Always wear scarfs to cover your chest. No sleeveless n short skirts. In some temples man are not allowed with their shirts on.

👉 Do not buy food from roadside stalls.  Do not drink tap water, drink bottled water only.

👉  Most of the temples have free shoe rack, if your driver ask to leave your shoe in your tempo please do so.

👉 Do bargain when you are shopping at roadside stalls.

👉 Buy pure silk sarees at weaving place like kombakonam and kanchipuram.

👉  Their fish fried are very fresh and tasty.  Dont forget to eat their kulipaniaram (i juz love it).
